A very big suprise on the front porch when I got home from work today! 2 boxes from you. Both Mary and my moccassins are absolutely beautiful and on our feet now! When I last checked our orders online there was a notation that though you had been ahead some on your craft a post-operative knee infection had slowed you down and given my usual luck expected ours to in the delayed pile. I sincerely hope you are on the mend. I have been wearing Bald Mountain Moccasins since the early 1970's; had a pair on when Mary and I were married. Had a replacement pair made when Miles was at the Gainesville, Fl Mideveal Faire in the 1990's that I was wearing when we met Donovan and Elaine at the same Faire this past winter. While on a visit to Sonoma County CA to visit family in the new mellinium I made the connection that I had been driving past their shop every day going to Sonoma State University when living on the Russian River so pulled in and had Mary fitted for a pair too. Then a long time not seeing Bald Mountain until they turned up at Sarasota Renn Faire while my daughter was going to college there. We had a pair made for her too. My son was still growing so he had to wait. I had no response to emails sent to Bald Mountain once his feet were done growing (and I now know why). Meeting the Catskill Mountain people in January here in Gainesville, along with being a little older and the kids being out and self sufficient, I was now able to make good on my promise of a pair of real moccasins to my son (also named Miles) plus fulfill an old desire to have a full 10button pair for myself. Mary was ecstatic to get a pair that are dressier than her monochromatic pair by Bald Mountain.
